Elizabeth "Liza" Fahey, LMSW

Elizabeth "Liza" Fahey joined the SFCS staff as mental health provider on the Elementary School level.  Liza is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both youth and substance abuse settings.

Liza began her professional career working in an outpatient substance abuse and mental heath program where her focus was on treating individuals with co-occurring disorders.  Liza provided individual and group counseling to a diverse population of adolescents, adults, and families struggling with substance use and mental illness.  Liza utilizes a strengths-based approach in her work and incorporates multiple modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Liza also worked  with children with developmental disabilities in a community setting where she directed an inclusive summer camp and facilitated recreational and social skills programming.  Liza supported families by providing psychoeducation and connecting them to additional resources. 

Liza received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and her master’s degree in Social Work from New York University.
