Swaroopa Dundon, LMHC

Swaroopa Dundon joined SFCS staff as a family psychotherapist in October 2021. Swaroopa has worked in several NYS Office of Mental Health, day-treatment programs serving clients with chronic mental health conditions.  Swaroopa has experience working collaboratively, and as part of a team consisting of psychiatrists, social workers and nurse practitioners treating clients with an array of diagnosis including depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use and eating disorders. 

Swaroopa brings a multicultural and multilingual perspective to SFCS.  She has lived and worked in different parts of the world, including Hong Kong and India and speaks several South Asian languages including Hindi, Gujarati and Tamil. 

Prior to earning her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at New York University, Swaroopa worked as a journalist and in fundraising positions for not-for-profit agencies in California.   Additionally, Swaroopa is a Level 1 certified, Iyengar yoga teacher and enjoys incorporating elements of yogic breathwork in treatment sessions.  Swaroopa is enrolled as a first year participant in the Family and Couples Treatment Services program through the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy.
