Justine Carino is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who joined the staff in October 2012. Justine was hired as a Youth Outreach Worker working with middle school age youth and families and shortly thereafter as part of the Family Counseling staff. Justine facilitated the TALKABOUT children's social skill groups and she was the facilitator of other agency group initiatives serving pre-teen girls. Prior to joining SFCS, Justine worked as a Psycho-social Rehabilitation Specialist at New York Presbyterian Hospital on the children's behavioral health unit. Justine earned a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany where she majored in psychology, and her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. In May 2016, Justine completed a two year- post graduate training in family and couples therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in Manhattan. She has received prior training in CBT from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Pennsylvania.
