The Scarsdale Task Force on Drugs and Alcohol is a community action group dedicated to reducing the underage use of alcohol and all illegal drugs in our community. We aim to promote a substance free culture by implementing environmental strategies and by educating and empowering youth, their families and our community to make safe and healthy decisions.
Through ongoing community collaboration and the use of the Strategic Prevention Framework, a comprehensive process for addressing the substance misuse and related behavioral health problems facing communities. By using this evidence based model, we believe we can achieve a vision of a safer and substance-free environment for our children.
Since its founding in 1984, the Task Force has involved parents, teachers, school, administrators, mental health professionals, village officials and community clergy in its efforts. In July 2015, SFCS assumed a more active leadership role of this community action group dedicated to reducing the underage use of alcohol and illegal drugs in our town. Community involvement is welcomed and encouraged.
