David, a life long California resident, joined the SFCS Family Counseling staff in May 2017 following his family's decision to relocate to Westchester County.
David has worked in multiple mental health treatment settings including community mental health, school based counseling services for elementary and middle school students and private practice.
David began his counseling career at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, a community funded mental health facility. He worked as a school therapist in Garden Grove School District before accepting a position with the Children and Family Services Division of Mental Health in Humboldt County. There he provided intensive support to children, adolescents and families with urgent mental health needs. During his tenure at Humboldt County, he received extensive training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child and Adolescent Strength Based Assessments, complimenting his educational foundation in Family Systems Theory.
David received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2008 from The Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA. He is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child and Adolescent Needs Assessment. David also served in the National Health Service Corps, a federal program that places health providers in undeserved communities.
