Jie Wu, LCSW
Jie Wu is a bilingual (Mandarin-English) therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, couples, and families. She joined the SFCS staff as a therapist in March 2021, bringing extensive clinical experience gained through her work in non-profit agencies, NYS Office of Mental Health outpatient clinics, public school settings, and private practice across New York City and the Long Island area.
Jie takes a warm, client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to meet each individual’s needs and goals. She specializes in working with children with ADHD, families navigating behavioral challenges, couples facing relational or marital concerns, and young adults managing life transitions. Jie is passionate about supporting personal growth and creating a safe, supportive space for healing, clarity, and empowerment.
Her clinical approach draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Narrative Therapy, and psychoanalytic perspectives. She believes that no single method fits all, and therapy should be adapted to honor each client’s lived experience and cultural background.
She holds a master's degree in social work from Long Island University. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice.
