S-O-C-I-A-L
is an 8 week social skills development group for elementary age boys and girls. What makes
S-O-C-I-A-L
different from other social skills programs is our understanding of families.
S-O-C-I-A-L
is one of the only group programs that offers parent and sibling workshops as part of the program. At SFCS, we recognize the important role families play in a child's development.
Using the evidence-based program, Second Step, children will learn positive social-emotional development. A variety of games, videos and interactive lessons are use making the learning dynamic and fun.
Children will learn to:
- Make Friends
- Regulate Difficult Emotions
- Be Empathetic
- Resolve Conflict
All members of our clinical staff are mental health professionals licensed in New York State. Our experienced facilitators have a unique understanding of elementary age children and have experience facilitating the
Second Step
program.
Second Step
has been shown to improve a child's ability to empathize with others and solve problems using the skills they learned.
